Chris Pennington

Native New Mexican Chris Pennington has been a professional artist for more than two decades, but she has been a creative soul her entire life. As a little girl in Los Alamos, New Mexico, she endlessly provided her decorating skills in her parents’ house, drawing on any surface she could find and using household goods for a variety of artistic projects. In the hope of channeling her boundless creativity in more constructive and appreciable avenues, her parents signed her up for art classes, and Chris has never looked back. She received her bachelor of fine arts in design from Eastern New Mexico University in 1985 and began a screen-printing business with her husband shortly thereafter. She has been prolifically producing various forms of art, from paintings to graphic design to illustrations to jewelry, continuously ever since. Chris lives in Albuquerque with her husband of 27 years, Carlton, 18 chickens, 2 cats, and 2 dogs.
